Doc Abode Joins NHS Innovation Accelerator’s 2024 Intake

Doc Abode is proud to announce its participation in the prestigious NHS Innovation Accelerator (NIA). Doc Abode’s CEO, Dr Taz Aldawoud, joins a distinguished line up of entrepreneurs taking part in the accelerator, aiming to scale their solutions within the NHS.

With several implementations nationwide, including CNWL, one of the largest NHS Community Trusts, Doc Abode is poised for expansion. It aims to extend its reach by providing its specialised solution for NHS workforce scheduling, specifically tailored to optimise Urgent Community Response (UCR) staff deployment. Doc Abode has been proven to increase the average number of patient visits completed by healthcare professionals per shift by over 120%.

Launched in 2015, the NIA is the official national-level NHS accelerator programme. Dedicated to improving patient outcomes, benefiting NHS staff, and fostering employment growth in the UK, the NIA assists innovators in tackling health inequalities within the NHS England Core20PLUS5 themes while promoting solutions aimed at carbon reduction. This initiative operates in partnership with NICE, NHS England, the Health Innovation Network, the MHRA, and various industry organisations.

'The NIA offers an unparalleled depth of understanding and a uniquely mature approach to supporting growth for healthtech organisations,' said Taz, CEO of Doc Abode. 'We are honoured to join this esteemed programme and contribute to its mission of driving innovation within the NHS.'

Doc Abode’s participation in the NIA will span three years of support, followed by lifelong access to the prestigious alumni network and peer community. The programme offers focused education on topics such as the NHS procurement process and pathway needs, tailored to the requirements and knowledge gaps of each participant.

As the healthcare landscape evolves, Doc Abode remains dedicated to driving positive change within the NHS and Taz is looking forward to documenting the organisations progress as they embark on this NIA journey.
